Spring Engagement Photography Session in Downtown Madison
Love in Bloom: A Spring Engagement Photography Session in Madison, Wisconsin
Finally the weather is truly warm. Spring in Wisconsin is in full swing, the farmers market is back, and most importantly the color green has returned to our lives.
A Symphony of Colors
Spring in Madison offers a stunning variety of colors such as tree blossoms, tulips on the Capitol lawn, and flowers of all colors seemingly everywhere. This feels almost too visually stimulating as we are getting out of my absolute least favorite time of the year, the brown between the snow melting and the return of actual plant life.
Iconic Locations
Madison almost has too many good options for picking a location for a spring engagement session. Olbrich Botanical Gardens are an incredible choice, just like so many of the gardens on Campus, or a trip up to Devils Lake.
Today we chose downtown, featuring the State Capital Building, the Monona Terrace, and a quick stop at the top of State Street.
Candid Moments
So calling anything in an engagement session “candid” is definitely kind of a lie. What I will do is give you lots of goofy things to do and say to get a more natural feeling photo. The best moments are the little things between a pose or terrible pun.
Golden Hour Magic
The magic of a spring engagement session is magnified during the golden hour, that precious time shortly before sunset when the light is warm and soft. Combining this great light and all of the colors that returned to the state create something special.
Eat your heart out Texas.
