Summer In Chicago

In the heart of vibrant Chicago, against the backdrop of the stunning North Avenue Beach, we explored the views of the skyline. 

Other than the views from the Sears Tower these views are some of my favorites in the city. I love how the skyline looks from North Avenue Beach. I am always so excited to be able to come here with a couple. There are a ton of great spots in Chicago but this is just one of my favorites.

Chicago’s Best Views

As the sun cast its summer evening golden rays over North Avenue Beach, Michael & Andrew's engagement session unfolded. With moments by the water taking in the Chicago skyline, every frame captured was beautiful.

The light changes so fast here as the sun sets behind the buildings of the city. 

My favorite photos here are the pier/ walkway. This is where we can get the sweet views of the city behind the couple. I love being able to play with the perspective from this area.

North Avenue Beach

Along the shore of Lake Michigan, North Avenue Beach offers a stunning backdrop for engagement sessions, weddings, and other special occasions. With its sweeping views of the skyline and Lake Michigan, it is no wonder why couples love this iconic location in Chicago.

My favorite photography session locations are places that have multiple different biomes and vibes in the same area. At North Avenue Beach there is of course the beach, some green spaces, and my favorite is the boardwalk and pier that looks towards the skyline. 

Places like this can definitely be very busy so I recommend either the morning as close to sunrise as possible or in the evening starting at the end of golden hour as the sun sets and the lights of the city come into view.

Parking is definetly not the easiest when it is busy season. Which is anytime it is nice and warm in the Midwest.

Final Thoughts:

North Avenue Beach is a perfect place for engagement photos and wedding portraits. It is popular for a reason. If you put in a little effort to mis the biggest crowds, you will be greatly rewarded with some of the best views in Chicago.
