Graduation Photo Session Highlight Images
This is essentially the perfect University of Wisconsin - Madison grad session. We started up by the capital and made our way down state street to the Memorial Union Terrace as the sun was setting.
While I personally would add a stop at Bascom Hill or another campus icon. This session produced incredible results because of the optimal time of day, and Maggie's enthusiasm.
We really did everything right on this one. I always recommend an evening time to try and get the best possible quality of light. The weather was perfect, that sweet balance of not too hot so that we are all sweating but not cold either. Maggie had a second pair of shoes to walk in from location to location, and a friend to help with her hair and moral support.
This is also one of my first sessions with my 105mm 1.4 lens, which has since become my absolute favorite for portraits. I think it was on my camera pretty much the whole time. I think it really gives a unique perspective and look. The images that come from this lens kind of just look like art.
One of my favorite views in the city is this spot looking down MLK Boulevard at the Wisconsin State Capitol Building. The light hits this area really well in the evening and with the fresh leaves on the trees it just glows beautifully.
